Gargyle Opens in the Lower East Side

By Ara Anjargolian | 05 August 2008, 10:16 AM

On Monday Gargyle, the country club inspired online men's and women's clothing boutique opened up shop in the Lower East Side, at 16a Orchard Street near Canal. The shop had originally operated out of DUMBO, opening up their offices for limited hours during the week for customers who wanted to try their canvas lace-ups and cute cotton frocks before they bought. But as more customers than expected found their way to the showroom and as the lease ran out on the DUMBO space, Gargyle decided to set up shop in a more convenient location. Make no mistake, Gargyle is still primarily an online boutique--the showroom still will not be open on weekends. But that hasn't stopped them for creating a cool, cute space. Al Gore: your internet, she's all grown up.
